Enter the 20th Darrell Patterson Volunteer Challenge Golf Tournament
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The 20th annual Darrell Patterson Volunteer Challenge Golf Tournament to benefit Santa For All Seasons is coming up on Saturday, July 18th at Eagle Bluff. Last year's event raised more than $25,000.
Entry fee is $175 per person. Breakfast and registration starts at 8:00 AM. Shotgun start is at 9:30. Famous Dave's will serve lunch at the end of the round when prizes will be awarded for the top 3 teams in 4 flights. Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive, longest drive by a woman, longest drive for 40-60 year old men, and closest-to-the pins on all par 3 holes.
There'll also be many items in a silent auction.
The tournament benefits Santa For All Seasons, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (C) 3 of the Federal Tax Laws. This tournament is the Santa For All Season's ONLY fund-raising event, and our goal is to raise at least $25,000 for that charity each year. Every dollar of that money goes directly to the Santa For All Seasons Fund, which helps foster children with education, health, welfare, moral and emotional needs.
Even though the Santa For All Seasons Fund is a year-round fund providing assistance to these children, one of our biggest annual projects is to see that each foster child is sponsored for Christmas. We do receive a tremendous amount of support from the community in this endeavor, but because of the number of children in foster care in Hamilton County, there are many who are not matched up with a Christmas sponsor. Proceeds from the tournament are then used to make certain each and every child receives Christmas gifts from his or her wish list. The money raised also helps provide birthday gifts for foster children, emergency medical needs not covered by the state, transportation for visits with family members, emergency clothing, formula and diapers for children coming into custody with none, GED testing fees, school field trips, Boys and Girls Club fees, summer camps... and the list goes on and on.
You can enter the tournament by clicking HERE to download the entry form (Word File), filling it out and sending it back in no later than July 11th.
In you don't play golf, or can't play on July 18th, you can still help us help the foster kids by buying a business sign with your company logo which will be displayed on one of the tee boxes and the scoreboard. Or you can simply make a donation to Santa For All Seasons.
