Braves Lose, Magic Number Stays at 7
The Braves were hoping to get a step closer to clinching the NL east title when they hooked up with the Marlins again Wednesday night in Miami... the third game in that four game series.
The Braves won the Monday and Tuesday night games, but fell behind in this one... Giancarlo Stanton's first inning single off of Mike Minor put the game's first run on the board. Logan Morrison's 4th inning single made it 2-0 Marlins.
Stanton jacked a two-run homer in the 5th to run that lead to 4-0.
Evan Gattis got the Braves on the board with a solo homer off of Jose Fernandez in the 6th.... but Fernandez got even when he went yard on Minor in the bottom of the 6th.
The Braves scored once more in the 9th, but it's a 5-2 Marlins win.
Meanwhile, the Nationals shutout the Mets 3-0, so the Braves magic number for clinching the NL east title stays at 7.By Darrell Patterson
