Braves Magic Number Now at 7
The Braves could have the National League eastern division title sewed up by the weekend.... their magic number was down to 8 as they played the Marlins Tuesday night in Miami.
A Freddie Freeman single, followed by Evan Gattis and Brian McCann doubles gave the Braves a 2-0 first inning lead.
Julio Teheran gave those runs and one more right back in the bottom of the first.
Giancarlo Stanton an rbi double, Logan Morrison a run-scoring single, then a Donovan Solano ground out put the Marlins on top 3-2.El Oso Blanco
(Gattis) singled Justin Upton home... Chris Johnson singled Freeman home to put the Braves back on top, 4-3 in the 3rd.
And that's the way it ended. Teheran and four relievers shut the Marlins out over the last eight innings. Craig Kimbrel pitched the 9th, getting his 36th straight save, his 46th on the season.
