Braves Win With Walk-off Homer in 10th
The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins locked up in a well-pitched game with much late inning drama.
In the top of the 2nd inning, Garrett Jones lifted a solo home run to right field off Julio Teheran. That lead held until the bottom of the 5th inning, when Andrelton Simmons returned the favor.
Simmons was facing Tom Koehler, who had pitched a gem up until one hanging breaking ball. Simmons hammered it to left field knotting the game up 1-1.
In the bottom of the 7th, Jayson Heyward singled home the go ahead run.
But the Marlins threatened in the 9th and scored one run off a shaky Craig Kimbrel to tie it at two.
Fast forward to the bottom of the 10th. Dan Uggla reaches on a sharp single up the middle. Next man up, catcher Evan Gattis. He drills a pitch to left field. It cleared the wall and the Braves win 4-2 on the walk-off home run.
With a 13-6 record, the Braves sit atop the NL East division.
