Bulldogs Kick Matthews Off The Team
More bad news out of Athens, Georgia.
The Bulldogs kicked rising junior and starting safety Tray Matthews off the team.
Before the announcement, Matthews tweeted on his account, "I'm sorry UGA family.I swear to God I love yal.I'm crying right now but I won't forget. Love the dawgs.Auburn or Louisville will be my home."
Georgia coach Mark Richt said, "We are trying to make room for guys who want to do things right."
No reason yet of what led to his dismissal, but Matthews was one of the players involved earlier this year in a stipend "double dipping" issue.
Meanwhile, the secondary is already depleted, with Josh Harvey-Clemons and Shaq Wiggins no longer with the program.
