Bowles, a freshman at Wichita State, was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital following his collapse on the court. KWCH-TV spoke with DJ's father, Darren Bowles, who lives in Chattanooga. Darren Bowles said he spoke to his son Tuesday night and that he was doing okay. D.J. will have tests Wednesday to determine what caused him to collapse.
He just said he was working out, says Darren. And he just collapsed. And thats about it. I really didnt go into detail. I just wanted to find out when his tests and everything was going to be run.
Darren Bowles said his son has always been "a healthy kid", and has had no prior medical conditions.
