Mocs Back On Track, Whip Furman
Casey Jones scored 18 points to lead Chattanooga to a 67-52 win over Furman on Saturday night.
Chattanooga (15-9, 9-1 Southern Conference) took control of the game
midway through the first half with an 18-2 run sparked by a Ronrico
White 3-pointer, and never trailed again.
Z. Mason, who scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, became the
first Chattanooga player to reach a trio of milestones in the win —
1,000 career points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocked shots. Martynas
Bareika contributed 16 points and White had 10 for the Mocs, who are 9-1
in conference play for the first time since the 1996-97 season.
Furman (7-14, 1-7) hit just 21 of 54 from the field and committed 19 turnovers, eight more than Chattanooga.by Dave Staley
