South Pittsburgh, Soddy-Daisy, North Jackson and Murray County are still looking for head football coaches, but the Sequatchie County vacancy has been filled by one of the deans of local coaches.
Ken Colquette, who coached the Marion County Warriors to four state championships and a couple of runner-up finishes, is coming out of retirement to coach the Indians, taking over for Chad Barger who stepped down after last season.
After resigning from Marion County in 1996, the 65 year old Colquette coached at Vidalia, GA and at Grundy County... he's worked as an assistant coach at Soddy-Daisy, Marion County and Ooltewah the last few years.
Jackson Out at Brainerd
Add Brainerd to the list of schools looking for a new head coach.
Stanley Jackson has been relieved of his duties. The Panthers went 1-9 this past season, 0-7 in district games, just one year after upsetting East Hamilton in the first round of the playoffs.
Standifer Transfers
In a player move, quarterback Brett Standifer has transferred from Soddy-Daisy to Bradley Central High School where he'll be one of 4 candidates competing to replace Bryce Copeland.

The Ridgeland All-American defensive back and wide receiver, who visited Ohio State last weekend, got an in-school and at-home visit from Alabama head coach Nick Saban Monday. Bell still has an in-home visit scheduled with Tennessee Vols new head coach Butch Jones and will visit the Knoxville campus next weekend. He plans to announce his choice out of those three finalists on national signing day, Feb. 6.New High School Football Coaches
