(image & story via our sister station in Atlanta, WSB-TV)
The Atlanta Braves scored a home run in Cobb County on Tuesday.
The planning commission approved its massive stadium and development.
Braves officials gave the planning commission a more detailed look at their planned stadium and mixed use complex, providing new renderings and insight on what the 80-acre project will look like. They said that since the Braves will be calling this place home, they will do it right.
"Their employees, their staff, their executives are going to live there for 30 years. They guarantee the stadium is something Cobb County is going to be proud of," Braves attorney James Ballie said.
The meeting was far from a Braves cheerleading session, as several people complained about the county simply giving the ball club everything they wanted without considering neighbors, including a condominium community nearby.Read the rest of the story here.
