Braves Lose For 3rd Time in 4 Games
The Braves, who lost only one series between early May and last weekend, have now lost 2 straight series. The Marlins beat them two-out-of three times in Florida... the Nationals took two out of three in D-C, winning Thursday's series finale 5-3.
Ian Desmond's first inning homer off of Derek Lowe gave the Nationals a 2-0 lead.
Matt Diaz got the Braves even when he jacked a two-run homer in the top of the 4th.
But the Nationals came right back with a pair of runs in the bottom of that inning.... Wil Nieves singled home those runs.
Omar Infante made it a one-run game with an rbi single in the 6th... former Lookout Adam Dunn made it a 5-3 final when he took Takashi Saito deep in the 8th.
The Braves have now lost 3 of their last 4 games, and their lead over Philadelphia in the National League eastern division is down to 2-and-a-half games. The Phillies beat Arizona 3-2 in 11 innings Thursday night.
The Braves play in Cincinnati this weekend.
