Mocs Beat East Tennessee State at the Roundhouse

UTC didn't do a great job of Rocking the Roundhouse, from a crowd standpoint Tuesday night... but the Mocs sure 'nuff did their part knocking off East Tennessee State in the 75th renewal of that rivalry.

Only about 5-thousand fans turned out for the Mocs second game of the season... they everymore got their money's worth... considering those in the 300 section paid only a dollar for their ticket.

Great game.... Tommy Hubbard was the go-to man early on for the Bucks, who outscored the Mocs 52-47 in the first 20 minutes.

It was 60-55 with 15:40 left in the game when Keegan Bell, Ridge McKeither and Josh Odom sparked a 25-8 run to grab control.

Former Tyner Ram Jeff Smith's four-point play with 8-and-a-half minutes to go gave the Mocs a lead they would never give back.

Bell, the transfer from Vanderbilt, scored 23 points.... McKeither had 17 points to go with his 9 rebounds... Odom, the freshman from Johnson City, scored 14 in the Mocs 85-76 win.

The Mocs, now 2-0 for the first time since the start of the 2001-02 season, play at Richmond Sunday afternoon, starting a five-game road swing.

The next home game is December 5, when Elon comes to town for the Mocs SoCon opener.
