Senior PK Craig Camay was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season while DL Joshua Williams earned Freshman of the Week honors.

The Mocs have won eight SoCon Player of the Week honors in 2009, setting a new school record for honors in a season. Other winners this season include Chris Awuah (Fr-W2), Josh Beard (Def-W6), Camay (ST-W2), Ryan Consiglio (Def-W3), Bryan Fitzgerald (Off-W3), Mike Hammons (ST-W3).

Samford running back Chris Evans was named Offensive Player of the Week while Appalachian State defensive back Mark LeGree was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week. The players of the week are selected by the conference office.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Craig Camay, Chattanooga, Sr., PK

Camay connected on all three field goal attempts and went 2-for-2 on PATs Saturday. Camay is tied for seventh in the nation with 16 made field goals and ranks second in school history for a single season. After scoring to trim The Citadel's lead to 28-21, the Mocs went for an onside kick which Camay helped convert. The Mocs are now 5-of-6 on onside kick attempts this season.

Other Nominees: Michael Frazier (Appalachian State), Bob Hooper (Samford), Blake Bostic (Western Carolina) and Stephon Shelton (Wofford).

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Joshua Williams, Chattanooga, Fr., DL

Williams tallied seven tackles, including 2.5 for loss as Chattanooga earned a come-from behind win over The Citadel, 31-28. By picking up a sack against the Bulldogs, Williams extended his UTC freshman record to seven sacks on the season and ranks third in the SoCon in that category. He was credited with five solo stops and two assists Saturday.

Other Nominees: Michael Frazier (Appalachian State), Tommy Edwards (The Citadel), Cameron Yaw (Samford), Jacoby Mitchell (Western Carolina) and Stephon Shelton (Wofford).

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chris Evans, Samford, Jr., RB

Evans rushed for a career-high 257 yards on 37 carries Saturday afternoon in Samford's 27-24 win at Wofford. Evans' 257 yards on the ground tied for the 12th-highest rushing total in league history. He added four receptions for 12 yards, giving him 269 all-purpose yards on the day. He became the only player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in three straight seasons and became Samford's all-time leading rusher (3,379) in the process.

Other Nominees: Armanti Edwards (Appalachian State), Adam Mims (Furman), B.J. Coleman (Chattanooga), Zack Jaynes (Western Carolina) and Michael Scott (Wofford).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mark LeGree, Appalachian State, Jr., DB

LeGree recorded two first-quarter interceptions which led directly to touchdowns as Appalachian State jumped out to a 21-0 lead on Elon en route to a 27-10 victory. LeGree picked off a Scott Riddle pass at midfield which set up the Mountaineers' first TD. His second interception of the quarter came at the Elon 46. LeGree returned it to the Phoenix 15-yard line which set up ASU's third score.
