Soddy-Daisy's Derek Rende, the 2007 TN State Open Champion, has moved into a tie for the lead midway through the state amateur tournament in Memphis.

Rende, who plays for UTC, shot a 3-under-par 68 today and shares the lead with defending state amateur champion Bobby Hudson of Memphis... they're both at 9-under, 133.

Hixson's Paul Apyan is tied for 9th place at 2-under.
