Braves Lose, Phillies Win... Braves Lead Now 2 Games
The Braves had the brooms out Thursday night in Atlanta, looking to put the finishing touches on a four-game sweep of the Mets, and win their 6th game in a row.
Tim Hudson, who had been pitching lights out, had a shaky first inning. Carlos Beltran poked a two-out pitch into the right-centerfield gap for a triple, but he was able to score when Omar Infante's throw to third skipped past Martin Prado.
Another run scored on an infield single.
The Braves cut the lead in half in the second inning when Brian McCann took Johan Santana deep to right field.
The Mets got 2 more runs off of Hudson... David Wright with a 6th inning homer, a 7th inning run scored on a Beltran groundout.
The Braves scored once more in the 8th inning, but it's a 4-2 loss. Meanwhile the Phillies won a 12-11 slugfest in Colorado, cutting the Braves NL east lead to 2 games.
The Braves play at Florida, the Phillies host Milwaukee this weekend.
